York Dinner 2026
A Light Dragoons Regimental Dinner
In aid of the Light Dragoons Peer Support Group
Following the success of the inaugural event in 2025, we are delighted to confirm that The York Dinner will now become a regular feature in the Regimental calendar.
The York Dinner 2026 will take place on Saturday 5 September 2026 at The Milner Hotel, York, beginning at 7.00pm.
This event supports and raises awareness of the Light Dragoons Peer Support Group and the valuable work it undertakes.
The dinner is open to all members of the Regiment, including currently serving and ex-serving personnel, as well as veterans of our antecedent regiments. Partners are very welcome to attend.
Venue
The Milner Hotel is located next to York railway station and is directly accessible from the platform, making travel straightforward from both the North and South.
Guests are welcome to arrive earlier, with access to the hotel bars available prior to dinner.
Please note that accommodation at The Milner Hotel is relatively expensive, but there are several more affordable options nearby. Guests are encouraged to book accommodation separately if required.

Programme
The evening will include:
- A three-course meal
- Guest speaker Capt Harry Amos (Retd), sharing his story of rowing the Pacific Ocean in 39 days and entering the Guinness Book of Records after running all seven Emirates in five days
- A Regimental DJ and dancing
- An auction in support of the Light Dragoons Charitable Trust, which supports the Light Dragoons Peer Support Group and the wider Light Dragoons family, including former members of our antecedent regiments.
The aim of the evening is to bring Light Dragoons together across generations. Opportunities to gather as a Regiment are rare, and this dinner offers a chance to reconnect, share stories and celebrate our shared heritage.
We look forward to a memorable evening and to strengthening the bonds that endure across the Regimental Family.
