Barnsley Branch Annual Dinner

The Barnsley Branch of the Association looks forward to welcoming members, families and friends to the Annual Dinner on Saturday 3 October, held at the Holiday Inn Barnsley, Dodworth.

Tickets are priced at just £10 per person.

The dinner forms part of what is always a brilliant weekend, beginning with the Annual Golf Competition at Silkstone Golf Club on Friday 2 October. More details on the golf will follow. On the Friday evening, guests can also enjoy a buffet supper and games night back at the Holiday Inn before the main dinner on Saturday.

MENU

Guests will be asked to select one option from each course when booking:

Starters

  • Spiced Pumpkin Soup finished with Crème Fraiche (GF*, V, Ve*)
  • Chicken Liver and Brandy Pate served with Port & Red Onion Chutney and Toasted Bloomer (GF*)
  • Duo of Melon, finished with a rich Berry Compote & Raspberry Coulis (V, Ve, GF)

Main

  • Roast Beef with all the trimmings, finished with a Red Wine Jus (GF*)
  • Mustard Baked Chicken served with a Fennel Cream Sauce (GF)
  • Baked Salmon served on a bed of Wilted Spinach with Hollandaise Sauce (GF)
  • Roast Pepper, stuffed with rice and pulses, served with a Tomato Sauce (GF, V, Ve)

Dessert

  • Caramel Apple Pie with Custard (V, Ve*)
  • Tangy Lemon Cheesecake with Chantilly Cream and Crushed Meringue (V)
  • Profiteroles with Chantilly Cream and Chocolate Sauce (V)

THE VENUE

The Holiday Inn Barnsley

The dinner will be held at the Holiday Inn Barnsley, conveniently located in Dodworth, just outside Barnsley. The hotel is just off the M1, making it easy to reach by road, and Dodworth train station is also in the village for those travelling by rail, just a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Check connections.

For guests attending the full weekend, the Holiday Inn will also host the Friday evening buffet supper and games night, making it a practical and comfortable base for the weekend’s events.
